Retinol belongs to an ingredient family called retinoids. Retinoids are all derivatives of vitamin A and are used in the treatment of skin ageing, skin smoothing and acne. Retinoids come in different strengths ranging from prescription-grade dermatology to over-the-counter skincare easily tolerated by most skin types. There’s no ingredient like retinol for smoothing out lines and wrinkles, stimulating collagen production and speeding up skin cell turnover.

  • Prevent wrinkles due to its minimizing effect, as well as smooth out existing fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Brighten dull skin by exfoliating at a cellular level, which results in brighter and smoother new skin.
  • Regulate oily skin and minimize breakouts
Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid improves the skin’s hydration levels. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, meaning it draws water to it and helps the skin to hold onto water. Apply a topical hyaluronic acid product, and it will help pull moisture from the deeper layers of the skin to infuse the top layers of the skin with moisture. If you live in a humid area, it can also help pull water from the air into your skin.

  • Hyaluronic acid products also help reduce trans-epidermal water loss. This is another way of saying that it helps keep water in your skin, rather than letting it evaporate out into the air.
  • Amazingly, hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water.
  • Crinkly-looking fine lines common around your eyes and lips are often signs of dry or dehydrated skin. Highly moisturized skin looks less crinkly and dewier.
  • Hyaluronic acid increases moisture levels in the skin without adding oil.
  • On its own, it is not an oily-feeling ingredient. It’s quite light, so it can be incorporated into non-greasy products that feel lovely on oily-prone skin.
  • Some research shows that hyaluronic acid may have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, even when applied topically.4
  • Hyaluronic acid can promote regeneration of the skin and help it to heal. Moisturizers that contain hyaluronic acid are often recommended after a chemical peel or laser treatment because of this.
  • Topical hyaluronic acid may not reverse superficial signs of aging, but the injectable forms of hyaluronic acid can.
  • Hyaluronic acid can be injected directly into the skin to help fill deep lines and wrinkles. It also is used to recontour the face, adding a youthful fullness back to the cheeks or to fill out the lips.
  • Another benefit of injecting hyaluronic acid is that it stimulates the skin to produce more collagen on its own, which means it may have lasting anti-aging benefit
Bees Wax

Beeswax is an excellent addition to cosmetic products, for many reasons. When used in lotions and creams, beeswax creates a barrier which helps to seal moisture into the skin. … This barrier also helps to protect the skin from environmental toxins and irritants

  • Beeswax can create a protective layer on the skin.
  • It’s also a humectant, which means that it attracts water.
  • Beeswax is also a natural exfoliator, ideal for sloughing away dead skin cells, it will work double-duty to keep your skin soft and hydrated
Shea Butter

Shea butter is great for correcting skin discoloration and evening out skin tone. Shea butter can be more effective than store-bought moisturizers for lightening acne scars on your cheeks, forehead, and chin. Its healing properties help repair the pink, purple, and black discolorations of acne scars

  • Shea butter properties like stearic, palmitic, and linoleic acids help strengthen this skin barrier to lock in moisture.
  • Studies have found linoleic acid specifically is beneficial in treating dry skin because it boosts skin hydration.
  • Has anti-inflammatory properties
  • One of the benefits of Shea butter is that it makes your skin appear younger.
  •  Shea butter contains a sufficient amount of Vitamin A, which is good for the skin.
  • Eliminates wrinkles and makes your skin look firm

Lanolin is a mixture of wool lipids and 25-30% water. What’s more, it forms an emulsion with water that’s easily absorbed by the skin, softening it and preventing it drying and cracking

  • Lanolin is used as a moisturizer to treat or prevent dry, rough, scaly, itchy skin and minor skin irritations (e.g., diaper rash, skin burns from radiation therapy).
  • Emollients are substances that soften and moisturize the skin and decrease itching and flaking
  • Lanolin is an emollient that contains conditioning properties make it an effective ingredient in combating dry skin and hair.
  • Lanolin is also used as a moisturizer for cracked lips or nipples.
  • Retains moisture: Lanolin is fantastic at keeping moisture trapped within the skin. …
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles: Since lanolin does retain so much moisture, it may plump the skin and fill in fine lines and wrinkles, which makes it successful when formulating anti-aging products
Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is made by pressing the fat from the white “meat” inside the giant nut. It is comprised of a unique combination of natural fats, which makes it useful in treating the skin. These fatty acids include linoleic acid (which can be beneficial for acne-prone skin) and up to 50% lauric acid (which is hydrating and antimicrobial).

  • It’s moisturizing.

SPF-Zinc Oxide

Sunscreen application should be a daily habit. There is no better product to use than one that contains an effective but gentle ingredient like zinc.
Zinc oxide is suitable even for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin. Unlike chemical sunscreens that can cause hormonal disturbance, using products with zinc oxide as one of the main ingredients are a great choice even for those with sensitive skin. These are the ones that can prevent acne breakouts and control sebum production.

  • One of the safest ingredients, zinc oxide can give your skin the protection it needs from harmful UV rays.
  • Helps protect cells from being damaged, halts the ageing process, and prevents skin dryness by filtering out the harmful UV rays
Hemp Isolate

Known for its healing properties, “cannabidiol offers some serious antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits which can be beneficial in treating skin concerns like inflammation, dryness and free radical damage

Scientists have also found that Hemp Isolate improves the production of collagen, making the skin and muscles firmer and connective tissue and bones stronger. Hemp Isolate also improves the appearance of scars, wrinkles, and skin discoloration

Hemp Isolate may even have preventative anti-aging benefits when it comes to the ever-sensitive eye area: “Cannabis is filled with antioxidants, like vitamin A, vitamin D, and vitamin E, all of which will be helpful in preventing damage and premature crepe-iness under your eyes

Hemp Isolate, according to researchers, exerts potent antioxidant effects. … Hemp Isolate-infused facial creams, eye serums, or anti-aging facial creams can help boost collagen production while fighting reactive oxygen species-induced damage. The overall effect is a toned skin, free from fine lines, wrinkles, and crease
